Near the Brown County seat of Nashville, IN, Yellowwood State Forest offers Indiana residents and visitors an opportunity to get back to nature without traveling far. Yellowwood offers fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking and numerous hiking opportunities. The park also offers horse camps, so trail riders can enjoy multiple days on horseback in the park. 133-acre Lake Yellowwood is home to many types of fish, as are nearby Bear Lake and Crooked Creek Lake. There are 6 hiking trails, from 1.5 miles long to 36 miles, including several self-guiding interpretive trails. Yellowwood also has 80 different camping sites, including around Lake Yellowwood.
